In this video Adam Clarke @thecommonpeople talks us through how to create building layouts in Minecraft from plan drawings.

This is of particular interest pedagogically as this could work for recreating buildings of historical or political importance, as in the www.hullcraft.com project, or maybe it would be a starting point for learners to design their own learning environments on paper and convert them in to Minecraft maps.

You could also use this for tracing over medieval sites such as this one and getting the basic layout built before discussion in class on what each bit of the medieval village each bit of the structure represented.

How about combining it with religious buildings and understanding the differences between a synagogue a mosque and a church?

A few ideas to get you started and in preparation for next week where we hand over to you to discuss and create your own pedagogic approaches to using Minecraft.
